I wish exercising was as much fun as eating.

Being an ex smoker i sympathise with all smokers who cannot stand inside to smoke, and in an ideal world every club, bar, restuarant would have two rooms!! However even when i smoked i never did so around other non-smokers. We know that passive smoking can kill people, and smokers should all respect the fact that people should have the choice not to inhale passive smoke.

Instead of focussing on illness prevention, why not more focus on promoting wellness?

i would like to see enough nhs dentists around to acctualy treat people. the whole service is a total joke and waste of time. should you have to wail 18 months with tooth ache? or pay private fees that take your dinner off your table?

Added by jask on 23-11-2007
as a non smoker i think the smoking ban should never been prohibited but there should be a non smoking area and a smoking area

Added by Anonymous on 22-11-2007
I wish we had a better working environment, hot desking is okay (assuming you can get a desk) but constantly working on laptops is not great we should have keyboards and laptop stands at every hot desk. It is causing me and others I know big back pain problems.

I would like to make the use of stairs the norm in office buildings rather than lifts for journeys of less than 5 floors with a view to improving the health of the nation and reducing energy usage.

Cut the pricies of healthy foods. For example: I can buy a packaged ready-meal that is bad for me for only £1, but if I would like to have something more nutritious and fresh I need to spend quite a lot more

Added by Cleo Dobson on 16-11-2007
STOP SMOKING! It is disrespectful to the people that have died - learn from their mistakes!!!! In my day no one knew the effects but now we do so if you are a smoker... STOP SMOKING!!!!

Added by Smoking Kills on 16-11-2007
STOP THE SMOKE!

Added by I hate smokers on 16-11-2007
I think that people who smoke set a bad example to the youth of today and that they are KILLING THEMSELVES. basically smoking is a bad idea. I think it is horrible and every time i walk past someone who smokes it makes me cough. The government hardly discourage these smokers, and although there is a smoking ban, people still smoke on the streets and kill everyone else!

Added by Mr Jacob on 16-11-2007
People that smoke are bad role models for my form, 9F!

Added by Ginger Lapesh on 16-11-2007
I aggree with the smoking ban - if people choose to smoke they could at least have the courtesy not pollute our air!

Added by Sabrina Kerr on 14-11-2007
The health of our society. We all need to make a conscious effort to promote healtheir lifestyles. No-one wants to live in a nanny state, but if we refuse to make conscious healthy decisions then the government will have to intervene and regulate our eating habits, exercise regimes and leisure activites.

I think we should try and reduce the amount of obese kids in the UK, I feel so sorry for them. Parents should have some sort of discipline and make sure they are eating good and wholesome foods.

Added by Sam Valentine on 01-11-2007
Obesity levels in the UK, I think they are disgusting. Stop eating your kids to death. Have some sort of discipline, it might be hard but DO IT.

Added by Anonymous on 30-10-2007
Create more healthy foods that taste like the unhealthy foods preople really like (for example, cheese)

Added by Anonymous on 29-10-2007
smoking kills? Drink driving and drugs kill more, both of wich are illegal. Smoking has never and should never be illegal. How many people have been convicted of smoke driving? Any smoking related crime? About time we voters stood up to the hypocrits in government!

well me n my husband lit up a cig in a bar the other nite just 2 see the reaction it caused. the police were there whithin 4 minutes and we got banned from the pub. but i think more people should stand thier ground

Added by ALICE BRIERLEY on 28-10-2007
I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A CHOICE FOR LICENSEES, PUBS CLUBS AS TO WHETHER THEY WOULD PREFER A SMOKING AREA WITHIN THEIR PREMISES AS THEY DO IN OTHER COUNTRIES WITHIN THE EU

Added by pat.love on 26-10-2007
can the elderly in sheltered housing have a specific smoking area

Added by bernie costello on 25-10-2007
The smoking ban in pubs should be reversed as it was before but allow the landlords the right to choose whether they have a smoking or none smoking pubs. This is a real problem and needs to be sorted before most of our pubs close due to the dimminishing numbers of locals staying at home .

Restaurants to provide more info on the nutritional content of food so that healthy choices can be selected. Also helpful for diabetics etc who need to work out how much carbohydrate they are eating before taking their insulin

Added by Anonymous on 18-10-2007
who on earth do the government think they are? How dare they dictate to us! Who are they to tell us what we may or may not do?All people should have the freedom to choose for themselves. In my opinion the answer would be smoking public areas, and non smoking public areas. This way, everyone is free to do what they prefer, without annoying other people!

i am a smoker and feel they are taking are freedom to smoke. i run a public house and i think it should be down to the owners to decide if they have a none smoking or a smoking pub.

Added by pam on 14-10-2007
Oh please can someone tell me why we have to walk through second hand smoke to enter a business? My mind boggles why we used to have to walk through a smoking section of a pub to get to the non smoking section. I think the band is great but it didnt go far enough! It should be banned 25 feet from the enterance of any pub, restraunt, shop or hospital. It stinks. It makes me stink when I have to walk through it. I dont like it! Smoking makes you stink, your kids stink, your house, car and hair stink! You may as well not bath, use deodrant, perfum, go ahead and rub an ashtray on yourself. It will save you money for more ciggies! So go on stinky keep it up! And please just stand 25 feet from the door! You say this is an abuse of your rights what about others rights not to stink!

We live at the back of a public house that has a drinking licence untill 1 am. Since the smoking ban came in we have had to suffer the noice of said smokers sitting in the specially built shelter untill 1.30 am on some days. We did not have to contend wih this noice when it was a car park. Was this taken into account when the Governmant brought in this law!!!

Added by Anonymous on 11-10-2007
The anti social nature of the Labour government in the way they have divided the population of Britain into smokers versus non smokers and created a whole new prejudice which will take years to overcome.

Added by CX on 11-10-2007
I would like to see every smoker in this country turn out at the next election and vote for anyone EXCEPT the main three parties.14 million people should be able to shake up our political system enough to make our current politicians realise that we live in a democracy NOT a dictatorship, as at the moment.

Added by Anonymous on 11-10-2007
The fact that non smokers will believe any statistics thrown at them from any so called expert. Not one death certificate anywhere in the world has passive smoking as the cause of death, but these people believe it to be true.

Added by John Smith on 09-10-2007
I think that smoking is a disgusting habit and the fact that non-smokers can get most of the smoking-related illness from passive smoking is NOT FAIR!!

Added by CL on 05-10-2007
petty crime will rise with the new smoking ban for under 18s tabacoo will be sold to those under by fault. its ridiculous. the goverment needs to stop blaming their problems on peoples lifestyles, its becoming a dictatorship rather than a goverment this time its smoking; just wait for the next knock on free will CL
